Over 451,000 criminal non-citizens have been arrested and booked into Texas prisons over the past 14 years, according to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Of those arrested, 322,000 have been identified as illegally in the United States, based on data from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
This report spans the period from June 1, 2011 to February 28, 2025 and reflects the participation of DPS and local law enforcement in DHS’s safe community program. This initiative will allow DHS to work with states and local governments to obtain custody of illegal foreigners pose public safety risks and prevent release into the community.
The data is limited to criminal history, federal charges and crimes from other states legally resident in the United States among 322,000 confirmed and illegal aliens, and has faced more than 564,000 criminal attack charges. These include 1,043 murders, 73,025 for assault, 10,096 for robbery, 65,896 for drug-related crimes, 1,371 for tricks, 28,601 for theft, 44,080 for police blockages, 3,214 for robbery, 7,177, 7,177, and 44,080 for weapons-related crimes.
The report also outlines that these charges led to 208,000 convictions. Convictions include 533 for murder, 26,670 for assault, 5,147 for robbery, 27,093 for drug offences, 391 for tricks, 10,740 for theft, 17,084 for police, 1,834 for robbery, 3,508 for sexual assault, 3,733, and 2,733, and 2,733, and 2,733.
The DPS revealed that the data only relates to individuals who were found illegally in the country at the time of their arrest. However, not all arrested individuals are immediately checked in the DHS database, as fingerprint matches are required to check the status of the immigration. If the arrested person’s fingerprints are not yet recorded in the DHS database, it is not possible to biometrically check the status of the immigrant at the time of arrest.
