According to the El Paso Times, a strange and horrifying incident emerged from Texas, where a 39-year-old man shot and destroyed his father, causing the action to be attributed to alien forces.

Jaime Adrian Contreras was taken into custody after authorities responded to the 911 call on April 12, 2025. Police report found Elder Contreras had his throat cut and was given all his might to what authorities described as a brutal and violent scene.

The nature of the crime was so extreme that even experienced officers who responded said they couldn’t believe what they saw.

“The nature of the wound was very intrusive,” a spokesperson for the El Paso Police Station said. “This wasn’t just murder. It was an act of extreme violence.”

Jaime Contreras was still on the scene.

Jaime Contreras was still on the scene when officers arrived and were taken into custody.

Contreras told detectives he thought his father was in the presence of the alien, and reported that he claimed that the alien had already harvested his organs in the past.

The suspect told them, confessing that he thought Victor Sr. was no longer human, claiming that he killed his father in self-defense when he attacked what he thought was an alien impersonation.

“He believed his father wasn’t his father,” said an official who was well versed in interrogation. “He said it was a kind of alien posing like him and he had to act to protect himself.”

Mental health issues are approaching

Contreras has not yet entered the petition and it is unclear whether he will undergo mental examination before the next court date. His lawyers have not commented, but legal observers believe that insanity pleas are a strong possibility.

“A mental health assessment is important when it comes to delusions or mental illness,” said Rachel Meyer, a Texas criminal defense lawyer. “If he really believed his father was an alien, it could have a big impact on legal proceedings.”

If Contreras is found to be capable of trial, he will be charged with first-degree murder. The punishment for that crime in Texas is either life sentence or death penalty.

El Paso residents are uneasy at the malicious crime and the strange allegations that followed. The Contreras family was quiet yet courteous neighbors, but never showed any issues in advance.

“I’ll see them outside from time to time,” one neighbor said. “They were protecting themselves, but nothing seemed to be wrong. This is just unrealistic.”

Local authorities are urging the public to be patient while trying to piece together everything that has occurred.

Contreras is being held unconfined at the El Paso County Jail. In a few weeks there will be a preliminary court hearing to determine whether Contreras is capable of taking court. At the time, authorities could decide whether additional psychiatric exams would be required.
