Happy Sunday, Texas!
It was accompanied by temperatures as the weather started spring, which began on March 1st, but it also means that harsh weather seasons are turning corners. We are looking at the possibility of a serious thunderstorm in the eastern part of the state on Tuesday. Meanwhile, red flag warnings have been issued in the West Texas and Texas Panhandle. Strong winds, very warm temperatures and dry vegetation lead to serious fire weather in these parts of the state.
Here’s what’s making news in Texas on Sunday, March 2nd:
Cheering race resumes after Shooter fear causes chaos and evacuation in Dallas
The National Cheerleaders Association All-Star National Championship is scheduled to resume on Sunday as active shooters caused chaos and evacuation in downtown Dallas on Saturday.
Police on Saturday received a call at 1pm for an active shooter at the Omni Hotel and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, but investigations determined that the fight between the two knocked down multiple poles, causing loud noise.
Police said the loud noise contributed to the panic and stampedes inside the building, and when people came out, they contributed to the stampedes.
“There were multiple non-life-threatening injuries during the chaos. No shooting occurred,” Dallas police said.
There were no arrests in connection with the battle that caused confusion.

The private Lunar Lander, built by a Texas-based company, ran drills, vacuums and other experiments on Monday on Sunday. It’s the latest in a series of companies looking to start their business with Earth’s heavenly neighbours ahead of the mission of astronauts.
The Blue Ghost Lander at Firefly Aerospace has descended from the lunar orbit of Autopilot.
A confirmation of the successful touchdown came from the company’s mission control outside Austin, Texas, following action approximately 225,000 miles away.
The upright, stable landing creates the first private outfit that sets Firefly, a startup founded 10 years ago, to place its spaceship on the moon without crashing or falling. Even in the country, only five claim to be successful are Russia, the US, China, India and Japan.
The land of the other two companies will be heated with Blue Ghost heels, with the next company set to join the month later this week.
San Antonio officials were ambushed when they investigated the club after hours
A San Antonio police officer was ambushed early Sunday after investigating a hot spot in trouble at a club on the city’s southwest side of illegal business hours.
Detectives were drawn into illegal after-hours clubs, and inside suspects began shooting them, according to Chief William McManus. Detectives returned the fire and the 28-year-old male suspect was attacked.
Police say the suspect barricaded inside the club and refused to come out. It is unclear how long the suspect ignored him and demanded that police surrender, but finally came out and officers took him into custody. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
McManus did not say whether the suspect was seriously injured, but he said there were moments of confusion as those officers got caught up in a crossfire.
Houston police searching for gunman after bar shoot left five injured
Houston police are searching for gunmen after several people were shot at the club early Sunday morning.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that five people had been shot. Police said officers immediately began first aid and all the victims were taken to local hospitals. Three reportedly remained stable and two in critical condition.
Police said there was some type of fight at the club about 30 minutes before the shooting. It was unclear whether the battle and shooting were correlated.
Police said the suspect was wearing black clothes and left the scene in a four-door white vehicle. Surveillance video showed the suspect walked to the club’s front door and set it on fire.
