No. 6 Texas A&M (23-4, 3-2 Sec) won the series on the road by beating No. 22 Auburn (20-7, 0-5 seconds) 13-2 in Game 2.
The Texas A&M Aggies rushed back to dominate the Auburn Tigers with a decisive victory in the 13-2 run-rule, showing five offensive explosions on the road. A&M cornered 2-1 early, then turned the game in a hit parade, earning 14 hits, including three doubles, and found their way to the plate.
Pitching standout Sidney Peters improved her record to an impressive 6-0, giving up only two hits and two runs. Senior Emily Levitt closed five innings with great performances, zeroed hits, recorded one strikeout and led a groundout to secure an early victory.
Amari Harper powered up, beating the second home run of the season and driving on two runs, with Mac Barbara formed with an impressive 3-4 outing and one RBI. If Barbara continues her momentum, the SEC must take high vigilance. After a series of games with limited attacks, the Aggies bats came to life, fulfilling manager Trisha Ford’s confidence that her team would regain their sparks at the right time.
“We were having a really good job offensively today, so we were having a game happening, so it was a great job that the first inning still had us in the butt, but it was good to see us back on the mound, so it was a good game.”
