Amarillo has definitely had a roller coaster of weather lately. I was able to enjoy the “fake spring” weather. One day, it’s a record fever, and the next day it drops to 30 degrees. If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes. This is something that we often hear about changes.
The better weather in February makes me think about the next few months of spring and summer. We consistently dream of warm weather. We know that what we’ve been going through is not the end of winter. I know we can see more freezing temperatures. You’ll probably see more snow.
The weather in the Texas Panhandle is already trying to fool us
That’s something we had to get used to. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to do a countdown when we can put that winter jacket in our home. I look forward to seeing that this really helps us in our daily lives.
Although we see cold temperatures following some warm days, it is helpful to know that there is an end. Usually, the weather is better in March. Heck, the kids go out to enjoy spring break, so they think it should be sunny. It’s not that fast.
Amarillo First and the last freeze day in Texas

On average, Amarillo can expect the first freeze to occur on October 24th, then the last freeze will occur on April 13th. The good news is that we have already passed the cold day of January 4th. It’s not only good again, but also good to average. That’s why many people say they refrain from planting those gardens until Mother’s Day, unless it’s completely clear before that.
Just over an hour north of us in Dalhart, they usually see the latest average freeze on April 25th. Leave it to us in the Texas Panhandle and laugh at last winter.
There have been beautiful days recently, but it’s important to come back to reality and come back. There is still a lot of winter.
Do these old wives take to predict the weather as truth?
The Texans like good wives and know that many of us have heard a lot about weather forecasts. But after all, is it really based on any of them? After all, some are:
