When Tc4 & Co. co-owners and founders Tony Sciorra and Creed Ford took over ownership of Mighty Fine Burgers, Fries & Shakes in 2021, they expanded their then-14-year-old Austin location. The aim was to expand while maintaining the familiarity of the brand.
meet the owner
Mighty Fine Burgers was founded in 2007 by Ken Schiller and Brian Nolen of K&N Management. Ciola and Ford purchased the brand when they were looking for a local restaurant to develop.
Both are Lake Travis High School graduates and are interested in starting a family-friendly eatery in their local suburban neighborhoods, areas they’ve noticed growing in popularity post-pandemic.
“If you grew up here, you understand why these areas are so popular and why so many people move there,” Sciorra said. “But I also understand that there aren’t any restaurants there yet, so there’s an opportunity for what Creed and I are doing with our brand. It’s sophisticated, casual dining, and it’s family-friendly. One of our brands you’re eating, yet also made-to-order and made-from-scratch. That’s how we approach business. ”
Mr. Ciola’s restaurant experience comes from rising through the ranks in his family’s restaurant business, while Mr. Ford comes from the corporate side of the restaurant business. They founded Tc4 & Co. in 2011.
The group’s brands include Tony C’s Coal Fired Pizza, The League Kitchen & Tavern, Tony C’s Pizza & Beer Garden and Mighty Fine. Soon, the group will debut an Italian-American concept in Dripping Springs: Cousin Louie’s.
Tc4 & Co. currently has more than 15 locations throughout metro Austin, including six stand-alone Mighty Fine stores. The burger joint operates concessions inside Darrell K. Royal Stadium on the University of Texas at Austin campus and at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
what’s on the menu
Mighty Fine offers made-to-order burgers, fries, shakes, sandwiches, hot dogs, and newly added chicken tenders.
Ford said Mighty Fine’s meals emphasize fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our patties are made with premium Angus beef from Creekstone Farms, our toppings are hand-cut, our chicken tenders are hand-battered, and our fries are made in-house.
Mighty Fine Locations’ open kitchen order line concept allows guests to see their orders being prepared. Although Mighty Fine locations do not have drive-thrus, Sciorra and Ford said they encourage guests to sit down and enjoy their delicious meals.
“We don’t cut corners. That’s not always the easiest way to run a restaurant,” Ford said. “It would be much easier to go get a frozen patty, throw it on a flat surface and serve it, but we don’t do that. We are passionate about what we serve and we I am also passionate about activities.”
stay local
Sciorra and Ford said Mighty Fine’s future includes opening more stores, hopefully in Austin and Central Texas. They opened the brand’s newest store in Kyle earlier this year.
In the meantime, they said they are focused on investing in the communities they currently serve.
“We really want people to get out of their cars, stretch their legs, bring their friends and sit here and enjoy Texas hospitality and enjoy top-notch ingredients,” Ford said. “Nothing is frozen except ice cream.”
