BISD Board of Education members partnered with Third Future School in 2023 to help raise the reputation of Texas educational institutions at Jones Clark Elementary School at Smith Middle School.
Beaumont, Texas – The Third Future School has officially announced its partnership with Beaumont ISD, according to a news release posted to its website.
“After a successful one-year partnership, the operations of Fehl Price Elementary, Jones Clark Elementary and Smith Middle School will return to the Beaumont Independent School District at the end of the 2024-2025 school year,” read the news release.
BISD Board of Education members partnered with Third Future School in 2023 to help increase the reputation of Texas educational institutions at Jones Clark Elementary School, Smith Middle School and Fail Price Elementary School.
However, just a year after the partnership, friction was created when the third future asked BISD to add 13% compensation and reconsider the original three-year contract. Without this compensation, he threatened to withdraw from school in his third future.

The third future says that there will be a clash of compensation to optimally compensate students in school, and that their dislike of BISD payments is the main reason for their departure.
“This decision is because the third future school cannot run the school due to high revenue holdback from Beaumont ISD.” Read the Third Future news release. “These high revenue holdbacks prevent TFS from introducing educational programming to the superior standards that hinder the ability of students and teachers to receive the quality education they expect.”
However, BISD Superintendent Dr. Shannon Allen says he has already provided additional resources for the third future through the original contract.
“We have actually made several concessions over the past year and a half, and have actually provided additional resources for the third future,” Dr. Allen said. “The district is currently withholding 23% to pay all bills, and in the third future we want to ensure that the district doesn’t cut it to just 10%. It’s now worth another $1 million for the rest of this school year. And we’ve made another $2 million next year.”
As the deal is now officially dead, both BISD and the third future are working on planning a smooth transition of leadership for the 2025-2026 academic year.
“We are currently working on a transition plan so we can make sure everything is ready and ready. Our priorities are that they don’t miss the beat, whether they’re successful, whether they’re successful, whether they’re running schools next year or not.
Third Future says the transition process will be managed in close coordination with Beaumont ISD due to a shared commitment to keeping students from disrupting education.
“Families can expect continued support from both the third future school and district during this period. The district envisions full operational responsibility for the school that begins in the 2025-2026 school year,” read the third future statement.
Despite the contract collapse, Third Future says he is proud of the work they have achieved while partnering with BISD.
“We are grateful to Beaumont ISD, its leadership and dedicated educators at Fehl Price, Jones Clark and Smith Middle for their collaboration over the past year,” said Zach Craddock of Third Future Schools. “Our partnership is over due to the district’s high revenue holdback, but we are proud of the progress that has come together and the relationships we have built within the Beaumont community. Our commitment to students and families in these schools remains unwavering, ensuring that the transition is as smooth as possible.”
