BJ’s wholesale club plans to open dozens of locations in the coming years, some of which are in Texas.
According to the membership club, the company plans to open 25-30 clubs in the next two fiscal years, with “some” located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area next year.
The openings for the 25-30 new clubs include recently opened locations in Brooksville, Florida and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (both opened last month) and new locations in Southern Pines, North Carolina, to open this Friday. Additional spots are also open in Whippany, New Jersey and Staten Island, New York.

The company also plans to open locations in Casselbury, Florida, Warner Robins, Georgia, and Sevierville, Tennessee throughout the fiscal year.
The new location will offer between 100 and 150 job opportunities in the community, the company said.

CEO Bob Eddie said Texas’s economic expansion and population growth make the state “fit for the company.” In recent years, several companies have moved their businesses to Texas.

One of the latest is Chevron, which announced in August that it will move its headquarters from San Ramon, California to Texas.
A few years ago, the financial services company Charles Schwab moved its headquarters to the Dallas Force Worth area and high-tech companies Oracle and Electronic Carmaker Tesla.
Businesses have gradually expanded their presence in the state, even before the pandemic, and in 2019, Amazon opened a large tech hub in Houston.

In the fall of 2024, Texas Governor Greg Abbott won the victory lap after data showed that the lonely star nation had led the country to job creation over the past year.
“Texas continues to dominate the American employment engine,” Abbott said in a statement. “Major American companies are fleeing the strangulation of overregulation in other states due to the competitive business benefits seen only in Texas.”
