The Cowboys will play their first game this season without Dak Prescott. Dak’s hamstring injury turned out to be more serious than initially expected, and it will be up to Cooper Rush to play Sunday against the Eagles.

The Cowboys are a bottom-10 team in almost every category this season. Things could get even worse without Dak Prescott. The return of Micah Parsons is expected to strengthen the defense, but the Eagles’ offense will be at full strength with the return of AJ Brown and Dallas Goedert.
The Cowboys’ defense has struggled, with their run defense being the worst in the NFL. The bad news is they’ll now be facing one of the league’s most potent rushing attacks in Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia should get away with this.
Final: Eagles 34, Cowboys 17

When Dak Prescott was last injured two years ago, Cooper Rush took his place and won four straight, but ultimately lost to the Eagles 26-17. Unfortunately for Rush, this is not the 2022 Cowboys. The Eagles won again, 26-17. The Cowboys fall to 3-6 and the clock starts ticking on “Trey Lance Time.”

Different bird this week, but probably the same result. One Pro Bowler returns (Micah Parsons) and another goes on IR (Dak Prescott). No ham, burgers, peanut butter or jelly. The Cowboys are in bad shape and are physically worn out, but the Eagles have found a way to fly high.

One positive for the Cowboys this week is the return of Micah Parsons after missing four games. Unfortunately, that’s the only good point I can point out. However, Cooper Rush’s starts aren’t the Cowboys’ biggest weakness. Looking at what this offense has recorded, starting No. 10 will have a small impact. Cooper scored two touchdowns in Atlanta, but they came on dropped passes by receivers.
The Cowboys will need help stopping the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley’s spin moves and hurdles. In an ideal world, the ‘Lions’ would restore much-needed leadership to this defensive group, but we’ve seen too many missed tackles to be convinced.
