The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) has announced this year’s Montague-CTE Scholars. This prestigious award, which recognizes outstanding achievements in education, is now in its 34th year.
The Montague CTE Scholar Award is named in honor of Kenneth Montague ’37, a distinguished alumnus and distinguished board member of the Texas A&M University Development Foundation, who had a long and storied career in the Texas oil industry. Ken and Judy Montague made a generous gift in 1991 for the future “Ken Montague” Aggie, a lifelong learner and community contributor. The Center is deeply grateful to our son, Jim, and his wife, Vicki, for their generous and continued support of recognition of teaching and learning excellence at Texas A&M University.
Each year, the Montague CTE Scholar Award is presented to 10 tenure-track assistant professors who have demonstrated exceptional passion and early success in teaching undergraduate students. Recipients will receive a $6,500 grant to further their commitment to educational excellence.
