WACO, Texas (KWTX) – Here’s this week’s Central Texas Restaurant Report Card.
Robinson Chopsticks, located at 628 North Robinson Drive in Robinson, failed the re-inspection with a score of 75. (25 points disadvantage)
Food safety officials said the food, including raw chicken, eggs and diced cabbage, had not been stored at the correct temperature.
The shop owner was touching the shredded cabbage and chopped broccoli with his bare hands without washing them.
Owner did not know proper food handling techniques.
Also, a child entered the kitchen and started cooking without proper hand washing.
Other problems included raw pool eggs being stored in pots and detergent being stored in corn cans.
Armstrong’s Bayou Cafe, located at 720 Franklin Ave. in Waco’s Union Hall, failed its renewal inspection with an 84 score. (16 disadvantages)
Food safety officials said the cooked pasta had been left in a Ziploc bag to cool, and the container of gumbo sauce had been left on the countertop and was not at the correct temperature.
Raw catfish fillets were kept on top of etouffee and other preparatory sauces, and some were thawed in buckets of water.
The employee was wearing a ring on his hand while working in the kitchen.
Great American Cookies, located at 6001 West Waco Drive in Waco’s Richland Mall, failed its renewal inspection with a score of 92. (8 disadvantages)
Food safety officials said the chocolate chips, peanut butter, birthday cake and double fudge cookie dough were not stored at proper temperatures.
Some items, such as gingerbread cookie cake batter, were thrown away.
Some coolers were not working properly.
As a result, everything inside was thrown away and the equipment needed repairs.
All these locations required re-inspection.
