Season series: Rangers lead 3-0
The White Sox will be looking to avoid a fourth straight loss against the defending champions. The Rangers won the first two games by one run each (4-3 in the 10th inning, 3-2 in the 9th inning) and then thumped the White Sox 10-2 on Wednesday, making them heavy -266 favorites with the over (8.5) hitting for the first time in the series.
Chicago has lost 10 straight games — four before the All-Star break and six since Friday. The Red Sox have not scored more than three runs in their last six games and have done so just once in their last 11 games. They are 1-13 in their last 14 games with their only win during that stretch coming in a 3-1 home victory over the Minnesota Twins on July 10.
Meanwhile, Texas has won seven straight games against Southside, including three straight in this series and four straight last season. The under is 3-1 in the last four meetings.
The Rangers have won four straight overall, with three of those wins coming by one point. The under is 3-1 in their last four games and 5-3 in their previous eight games.
White Sox vs Rangers predicted starting lineup
RHP Jonathan Cannon vs. RHP
Cannon (1-4, 4.58 ERA) will be making his 10th start and 12th appearance on the mound. The rookie has a 1.32 WHIP, 92.1 BB/96.8 K/1 in 57 innings.

White Sox vs Rangers predictions and forecasts
prediction
Rangers 6, White Sox 3
Money Line
The Rangers (-255) cost just over 2.5 times the potential return, which is too much risk for not enough return.
The White Sox (+210) don’t trust Cannon against the veteran Scherzer, but Texas has won all three matchups in this series, but only once by more than a run.
Passed.
Against run line/spread
Texas -1.5 (-120) are reasonable odds on the run line. Texas is a heavy favorite to win after beating Chicago 10-2 on Wednesday. But, there’s a word of caution: Texas is 7-4 in their last 11 games, with five of those wins coming by just one run.
Additionally, the Rangers are 1-4 in the last five games in which Scherzer has started, so they need to tread carefully.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 8 (-106) — I would bet a HALF UNIT at best.
The Rangers are 3-3 O/U in their last six games since the All-Star break. Texas is averaging 4.2 points per game (RPG) in those six games while allowing 4.3 RPG.
For the White Sox, the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games and 9-2 in their last 11. Proceed with caution as Chicago’s offense is averaging just 1.9 rebounds in their 10-game losing streak.
