Former Texas A&M quarterback Connor Weigman announced on social media Wednesday night that he plans to transfer to Houston for the 2025 season.
Weigman, who was a starter at Texas A&M each of the past two seasons, entered the transfer portal on Monday. Houston, a native of Cypress, Texas, was the clear favorite to acquire the player, who is ESPN’s top pocket passer and the No. 27 overall recruit in the 2022 class.
“Going home. Time to go to H-Town for work,” Weigman wrote to X.
I’m going home.

He has two years of eligibility left.
Weigman went 9-4 as Texas A&M’s starting QB with 2,694 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Although he got off to a promising start, a foot injury ended his 2023 season. Weigman opened the 2024 season as the team’s starter under new coach Mike Elko, but sprained his right throwing shoulder in Week 2 and was sidelined for about a month.

He returned to action against Missouri State on October 5, completing 18 of 22 passes for 276 yards in a big win, but was benched a few weeks later in favor of Marcell Reed. Weigman only had five pass attempts in November.
Houston went 4-8 in coach Willie Fritz’s first season and hired a new offensive coordinator in LSU assistant Slade Nagle. The Cougars finished 126th in passing this season.
Sophomore Zion Chris, who started the team’s last seven games, posted on X last week that he recently underwent surgery. Chriss completed 63.4 percent of his passes this season for 824 yards, four touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
