Colorado football is hitting the transfer portal hard while juggling bowl week. Deion Sanders continues to search portals for immediate help. The Buffaloes’ head coach acquired a major addition via Texas A&M on Monday.
Sanders will now be joined by former Aggies offensive lineman Aki Ogunbiyi coming to Boulder, according to Portal Insider Matt Zenitz and 247 Sports’ Chris Hammer. Big and powerful at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, Ogunbiyi is a former four-star player.
Texas A&M acquired him in the class of 2020 out of Kempner High School in Sugar Land. The Aggies are 247Sports’ ninth-best offensive guard prospect. However, he struggled to get a ton of snaps.
Ogunbiyi started eight games and played a total of 654 snaps at Texas A&M. Still, Sanders is beefing up his experience in the trenches.
How offensive are Deion Sanders and Colorado in the portal?
After Oklahoma State’s final loss of the season, ‘Coach Prime’ warned opposing teams — he’s reaching the portal like never before. Ogunbiyi adds more to the already strong Portal class for Saunders and Buff.
Liberty’s Kaidon Salter is one valuable addition. Salter is expected to compete for the starting spot this spring with valuable 2025 quarterback signing Julian Lewis. Salter is approaching 2,000 career rushing yards and has nearly 8,000 total yards. Like Ogunbiyi, Salter is also a former four-star talent.
But Salter isn’t the only dynamic offensive addition. Colorado was able to get a high-profile wide receiver out of the portal. Joseph Williams, a Tulsa resident, is heading to Colorado via Tulsa. Williams emerged as an impact freshman in the American Athletic Conference. It initially looked like he was going to join Utah until Sanders and CU flipped him.

Ogunbiyi isn’t the only offensive line helper coming to Boulder. Sanders and the Buffs lured Carter Miller from Louisiana-Monroe. Miller started 12 games as a center for the Warhawks in 2024.
Colorado strengthened its defense with one of its top interior defensive linemen. The Buffaloes took Gabriel Lightfoot, who came via Fresno State, through the portal. Lightfoot had 32 total tackles and 24 quarterback pressures, making him one of the top defensemen in the Mountain West Conference.
The Buffaloes will face Big 12 Conference rival BYU on Saturday, Dec. 28, in the Alamo Bowl.
