Texas Border Project

EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) is launching the second round of the Facade and Lot Improvement Program (FLIP), an initiative aimed at providing financial support to local small and medium-sized businesses facing key challenges in recent years.
The EEDC is committed to supporting the community by providing grants of up to $10,000 to qualify for small businesses for repairs and improvements. The program will officially launch on March 17th, 2025.
Program Details: EEDC has allocated $400,000 for fiscal year 2024-2025, supporting at least 40 eligible small businesses, providing grants of up to $10,000 each. The program covers repairs to existing parking lots, signs and facades, with eligible improvements to be implemented until September 30, 2025 from the program start date. The grant was approved by the EEDC Board of Directors on March 3, 2025.

The flip program works on a refund basis and allows approved projects to receive funds upon completion. Project costs and building permits incurred prior to approval will not be refunded. Furthermore, if eligible companies face financial difficulties and are preventing them from embarking on the expected improvements, the EEDC may consider providing financial support up to the grant amount. Winners of the first flip round are not eligible to apply.
Before work can begin, all improvement projects must be approved by the EEDC Board of Directors and the Edinburg City Council.
