Colt McCoy’s Career
The football star began his career as a redshirt freshman at the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 and started all 13 games that season.
McCoy played for the Longhorns until 2009, and was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and won an NCAA record 45 games during his collegiate career.
The Tuscola, Texas, native graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and played for the Cleveland Browns in 2010 before going on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, New York Giants and most recently the Arizona Cardinals.

Since announcing his retirement from the NFL, McCoy has posted a video to YouTube detailing his career and sharing his thoughts about his journey so far.
“I love football. It’s a beautiful sport, a beautiful game. Football has taught me a lot about my character, my DNA and my competitive spirit,” he said.
“I’m really, really, really grateful. It sucks that I can’t play anymore, but I’m also so grateful for what God has allowed me to do and how long I’ve been able to play.”
McCoy is scheduled to appear on “Big Ten Saturday Night” next month.
