One of the men police are looking for is a convicted sex offender who was released from prison in August. The other has been previously convicted of assaulting a pregnant woman. Police called them “co-sick people.”
Father and daughter killed by car wash gun
Family members identified the victim of the car wash shooting as North Texas rapper G $lil Ronnie and her 5-year-old daughter.
Authorities are looking for two “armed” and “dangerous” men in connection with the murder of a North Texas rapper and his five-year-old daughter.
The Forest Hill Police Department announced Wednesday that a capital murder warrant has been secured for 24-year-old Adonis Robinson and 21-year-old Jacoby Russell. Both men are accused of being involved in the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man and his 5-year-old daughter in a car wash about 30 miles west of Dallas on Monday.
The man killed in the shooting was identified by family and friends as local rapper Ronnie “Lil Ronnie” Smith (reported by G$lil Ronnie, WFAA, KTVT).
Police said Robinson is a convicted sex offender who was released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in August. His previous convictions include sexual assault on a 55-year-old woman in 2021 and failure to comply with the 2022 sex offender registration requirements, according to the Texas and Texas Sex Offender Registration Office.
Russell has also been previously convicted, including assault this year, assault on a pregnant woman in 2023 and arms charges in 2022, police said.
“They’re scary. They’re cowardly. They’re hiding. We ask the public, do you know where they are?”
Steve Gordon, who represented Russell in the latest incident, told USA Today on Thursday that he commented on allegations against his previous client. Robinson’s attorneys did not immediately respond to USA Today’s request for comment.

Forest Hill police officers responded to a car wash just before 11am Monday and found two casualties. Officers attempted lifesaving measures but were declared dead at the scene, police added.
A police preliminary investigation determined that the suspected gunman escaped from the scene with a white four-door aia after approaching the victim’s vehicle parked in the bay during the car wash, the department said.
The Texas Rangers, along with other local law enforcement agencies, are spearheading the double homicide investigation with the help of the Forest Hill Police Department’s criminal department.
“They’re dangerous. They’re armed,” Hernandez said of Robinson and Russell at a press conference. “And you need to call 911 and get the officers to respond and take appropriate action.”
Did G$lil Ronnie and the suspected shooter know each other?
Hernandez did not detail whether G$lil Ronnie and the suspect knew each other at a press conference, but he admitted that the victim was part of the music industry.
“It’s all part of the investigation,” the chief said of the relationship between the victim and the shooter. “As I said earlier, we are in the fact-finding stage. Everything that comes out has been reviewed and analyzed by the Texas Rangers.”
Stella Houston’s Stella Houston told the WFAA that her nephews don’t have any enemies she knows.
“He was a good kid. He was,” Houston said by television stations equivalent to Dallas and Fort. “He didn’t care anybody.”
