The 2024 regular season didn’t end as expected for USC or Texas A&M.
On November 30th, the Trojans, led by Lincoln Riley, scored 14 points in the second quarter against No. 5 ranked University of Notre Dame and were tied at halftime with 14 points. Unfortunately, the Fighting Irish fought back with 21 points in the third quarter, but ultimately came away with 49 points. After winning their 35th game and starting the year with an expected 3-1 record, USC finished the year with a 6-6 record.
But there were some bright spots in the intersection contest. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jayden Maiava completed 27 of 48 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jacobi Lane caught all three end zone tosses.
Still, in today’s Las Vegas Bowl at Allegiant Stadium, where the team will face Texas A&M for the first time since December 1977, the team has had some setbacks. Unfortunately, USC is without several key contributors due to the NCAA transfer portal. The paper said star running back Woody Marks is not scheduled to play, safety Kamari Ramsey, cornerbacks Jaylin Smith and Greedy Vance, offensive linemen Emmanuel Preignon and Jonah Monheim, and linebacker Easton It is still unclear whether Mascarenas-Arnold and Mason Cobb will participate.
