WACO, Texas — Texas’ 10 Most Wanted fugitive, Robert Gonzales, is this month’s featured fugitive. If information leading to his arrest is received in September, the reward will be increased to $4,000.
Robert Gonzales, 47, of Waco, has been wanted since September 2023 out of McLennan County for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. In 2011, Gonzales was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and subsequently sentenced to two years in prison. That same year, he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child following an incident with a 5-year-old girl and sentenced to 10 years in prison. In 2022, Gonzales was convicted of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to two years in prison for each charge, to be served concurrently. Gonzales has also been convicted multiple times of felony assault in Ohio.
Gonzalez is 5’7″, weighs approximately 195 pounds and has tattoos on his neck, back and arms. He has ties to Dallas County as well as Waco. More information about Gonzalez, including arrest updates, can be found on the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) website.
Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Office of Public Safety, offers cash rewards to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of Texas’ 10 most wanted criminals, sex offenders and criminal illegal immigrants. To date in 2024, DPS and other agencies have arrested 32 of Texas’ 10 most wanted criminals, sex offenders and criminal illegal immigrants, including 11 sex offenders, 10 gang members and four criminal illegal immigrants.
To receive a cash reward, tipsters must provide their information to authorities in one of the following ways: by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), by submitting a web tip through the DPS website, or by submitting a Facebook tip by clicking on the “SUBMIT A TIP” link in the “About” section. All tips are anonymous and tipsters will be provided with a tip number instead of their name.
DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for inclusion on the Texas 10 Most Wanted, Sex Offenders and Criminal Illegal Immigrant lists. Up-to-date lists with photos are available on the DPS website.
