Police responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of Mansfield Highway Friday afternoon.
FOREST HILL, Texas — Two people were killed Friday in a triple shooting at the car sales business, according to the Forest Hill Police Department.
At about 3:30pm, police said they responded to a report of a business shooting in the 5200 block of Mansfield Highway. Police said when officers arrived they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds and began life-saving measures.
Medstar confirmed that the WFAA had transported three victims to a nearby hospital. Two of them were later declared to have died, Forest Hill PD said. The status of the third party is currently unknown.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified one of the two victims as 35-year-old Hamzeh Jamal Almaani.
On Saturday, Forest Hill PD provided an update in which investigators identified the shooter as Rafael Arreguin, a former employee of the business where the shooting occurred, and Rafael Arreguin, who claimed he had obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Forest Hill PD said Arreguin was arrested in Fort Worth Friday night and taken to the Everman/Forest Hill Regional Jail. Police say he was charged with murder, exacerbating the fatal weapon attack. He is currently in custody at the Everman Police Station, officials confirmed.
HD Chopper 8 flew over the scene Friday afternoon and captured multiple vehicles plagued by bullet holes.
It is unclear what led to the incident, but police said an investigation is ongoing. Police looked into evidence at RK Auto Sales.
“Investigators are processing the evidence and interviewing multiple witnesses,” Forest Hill PD said in a news release.
One witness, Kevin Keener, told the WFAA after seeing police perform CPR on the injured man.
“Yeah, that’s a scary guy. That’s awful. See how cold it’s here, you’re probably thinking everyone is in trying to keep you warm,” Keener said. “When I saw the man on the ground, it reminded me and reminded me that I was lying on the ground because I was shot before.”
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers, Fort Worth, Kenneedale and Everman police also responded to the scene.
This is an developing story that will provide updates as soon as WFAA becomes available.
