North Texas artists and musicians lament Fort Worth rapper G$lil Ronnie, who was killed along with his 5-year-old daughter in a shooting at Forest Hill Car Wash Monday morning.
Police have a warrant issued for capital murder, but have not publicly identified the suspect, citing an ongoing investigation, Dallas Morning News reported. Officers were also looking for a second suspect Monday night.
Fort Worth-born singer-songwriter Leon Bridge posted a photo of himself on his Instagram Story Monday along with the 35-year-old rapper, 35-year-old rapper. In one image, he wrote “Shit Chucky” with tear-eyed emojis.
“My heart is stopped at this!!” Kedrick Wilson, also known as Mr. Hit Dat, wrote in an Instagram post Monday that Dance Moves had an impact on the second half of Dallas Dallas Boogie Anthem. “I’m hurt by this!!! We were huge to my father.”
Dallas rapper Yella Beezy posted a photo of Dove emojis and Sibley on her Instagram story, then followed up with another story post, writing, “Anxiety on the roof!”
Sibley may be best known for his 2018 single “Hoodfame Killuminati,” featuring longtime collaborator and Fort Worth Rapper Go Yayo. As of March 2025, the song had over 3.9 million streams on Spotify.
In a 2023 conversation with Porch, an online hip-hop interview series, Sibley talked about his upbringing in Fort Worth.
“It was rough and rough when I was approaching,” he said. “My grandmother passed away when I was in seventh or eighth grade. My brother hit prison when I was in eighth grade. My mom was on the street,” he continued.
His spirit of guidance through these difficult moments can be summarised by the motto of “continue.” He added, “I haven’t stopped anything.”
Looking back on being an independent artist in Texas, he praised the Fort Worth music scene, but “the outside world doesn’t catch all the music. They just look at big people.”
