According to Ramon Pennell, CEO and co-founder of LoopDeco, 12 million tons of furniture ends up in landfills, the vast majority of which can be recycled. That’s where Loop Deco comes in.

detail

Pennell said LoopDeco removes used furniture and appliances and resells or recycles them. The company works with a service network of small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and recyclers.

Pennell said customers use the company’s website to request removal of old furniture, adding that LoopDeco will pick up items anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

“One of the teams in our network picks up the items the same or next day, and they are then reused through refill donations or recycling,” Pennell said. “We can reuse or recycle about 85 to 90 percent of what we pick up.”

what’s special

At LoopDeco, we focus on furniture and appliances, so much of what we salvage can be reused. Pennell said pick-up will be free if one of the partners is able to resell the item being picked up.

Additionally, Pennell said junk transport companies often ruin furniture that could be reused.

Most of the company’s customers are consumers, but it also works with businesses to remove old furniture from office environments.

featured quotes

“There are logistical issues with reusing items, so whether it’s picking it up and taking it to a nonprofit, reselling the item through Facebook Marketplace, trying to deal with scammers, whatever it is. , it’s really painful,” Pennell said. . “So what Loop does is make deletion and reuse incredibly easy.”
