The Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Bowling Green Falcons 26-20 on Saturday and now their attention turns back to the SEC.
This weekend, the Aggies will travel north to Arlington to take on the rival Arkansas Razorbacks in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium, the final neutral-site game of the rivalry.
The Aggies have won 11 of the last 12 meetings between these teams, with the most recent victory being a 34-22 win last season.
On Sunday, the game time, opening betting odds and television broadcast details for the matchup were finally announced.
According to an SEC announcement, the Aggies and Razorbacks game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
The Aggies open the game as a 4.5-point favorite against the Razorbacks, with the over/under set at 52.5 points, according to Bet MGM.
One of the big storylines to watch going into this week is who will be the starting quarterback for the Aggies.
Last week, redshirt freshman Marcel Reid started his second straight game and led the Aggies to a win, becoming the first player since Johnny Manisel to throw for at least 170 yards and rush for at least 80 yards in two consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Connor Weigman is still recovering from a sprained AC joint suffered in Week 1 and will again be a game-time evaluation.
Weigman was evaluated before the Bowling Green game, but the staff didn’t feel he was ready to play yet.
“We didn’t want to give (Weigman) another chance,” Aggies coach Mike Elko said Saturday night. “He’s still battling the pain from his shoulder injury, so we’re just trying to get him back to a comfortable throwing state. We didn’t feel it was right to go through that process again.”
That being said, even if Weigman were healthy enough to play, there’s no guarantee Reid wouldn’t be used.
We’ll find out the outcome one way or another on Saturday in Arlington.
