AUSTIN – The Texas men’s tennis team will open its 2024 fall season with three members competing in the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic, hosted by Baylor University from Sept. 13-15.
Longhorns freshmen Evan Burnett, Rahul Sachdev and Calvin Wang will join players from Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Oklahoma State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Tulsa and Texas Tech University at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.
Singles matches will begin at 3pm CST on Friday, with doubles matches starting Saturday morning. Because this tournament takes place off the Baylor University campus, there will be no live stats or video, but all tournament information and results can be found on the tournament hub page.
On Friday, Sachdev will face Baylor’s Marko Miladinovic in the gold draw at 3:00 PM CST, while Wang will face University of Texas at San Antonio’s Miguel Alonso in the silver draw and Burnett will face University of Tulsa’s Reyja Komagata in the white draw, all at 4:30 PM CST.
Sachdev and Wang will team up in doubles on Saturday to face Baylor’s Imran Daniel Abdul-Hazri and Lewis Bowden, while Barnett will team up with Oklahoma State’s Ty Wunderlich to face Tulsa’s Komagata and Alex Okonkwo.
