Texas’ first Michelin Guide has finally released its recommendations. At a black tie event held in Houston on Nov. 11, the guide announced that 47 Austin restaurants earned the recognition.
For many, these are the most prestigious and coveted landmarks of restaurants worth visiting. Some question how locals should take outside opinions about their local favorites. In any case, there is no doubt that the existence of the Michelin Guide will change the dining landscape in Texas.
After spending some time in Texas, anonymous reviewers from the famous Michelin Guide have decided on the best restaurants in Texas. This guide is officially located in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

The special award, given to a promising young chef, went to Edgar Rico of Nixta Taqueria, who gave encouragement to Mexican immigrants.

According to the guide, Michelin’s highest honor is “given to restaurants that serve outstanding cuisine.” 1 star is very good, 2 stars is excellent, and 3 is the best rating.
