More than 350 new immigration lawsuits filed in the Western District of Texas

More Than 350 New Immigration Lawsuits Filed In The Western

San Antonio, representing U.S. Attorney Margaret Leachman for the Western District of Texas, announced Friday that federal prosecutors for the district submitted 352 new immigration and immigration-related criminal cases from April 25th to May 1st.

Among the new incidents, David Istres Vilalobos and Ilber Gabriel Caldera Espinoza were arrested by San Antonio police during a traffic stop on April 22nd. Both were identified as Venezuelan citizens who exist illegally in the United States. The Ysturiz-Villalobos were observed in possession of a .40 caliber pistol with a loaded magazine and one chamber round. Caldera Epinoza later admitted that the pistol was him. Ysturiz-Villalobos and Caldera-Espinoza each have been charged and convicted in one count of illegal foreigners in possession of a firearm, and will each have up to 10 years in federal prison.

Mexican National Roguelio Cruz Ramirez has been federally charged with illegal re-entry in Austin after encountering him at the Hayes County Jail. Cruz-Ramirez has three previous removals from the US and two voluntary returns to Mexico. In 2015 he was convicted of assault causing physical injury to his family and added an illegal Carrie conviction and fraudulent use/possession of identification in 2007. Cruz-Ramirez has three illegal entry beliefs in his record.

Mexican national Jesus Soto Reyes was encountered at the Bastrop County Jail, where he was detained for fatal weapons and aggravated assault. Soto-Reyes has five previous removals from the US, in addition to two voluntary returns.

Angel Navarro Miranda in Mexico was encountered at the Travis County Jail. Navarro-Miranda’s criminal history includes four additional DWI fees dating back to August 2000.

Near Eagle Pass, Honjuran National Alicia Arrudez Mendoza Fuentes was arrested by US Border Patrol (USBP) agents on April 23rd. Mendoza Faentez was convicted of smuggling a person’s crime on May 15, 2024, and was subsequently deported to Honduras on May 29, 2024.

USBP agents arrested Daniel Isai Gonzalez Martinez, a Salvador national near Eagle Pass on April 24th. Gonzalez Martinez also received three previous withdrawals on December 13, 2024.

Mexico National Jose Torres Gallaviz was arrested on April 28 by a USBP agent near Eagle Pass. Torres Gallavis was found guilty of multiple felony in January 2024, including possession of cocaine and battery in 2024 with waste convictions in 2024, as well as multiple felony convictions in January 2024, including law enforcement, car theft and resisting battery. Re-entry fee.

Jose Luis Padron Aredondo, a Mexican national, was arrested by a USBP agent on April 25th for illegal re-entry. Padron Aredondo was deported four times, with the last one going through Del Rio on October 17, 2024. His criminal history includes a felony conviction for illegal re-entry in 2013 and two convictions for inappropriate entry by aliens in 2009 and 2010.

In El Paso, US citizen Eddie Gonzalez Jr. was arrested on April 28th and charged with illegal alien smuggling. The USBP agent responded to reports that three individuals had made illegal entry within five miles of Tornilho Port when they noticed that the vehicle had slowed down. Gonzalez Jr. is said to be a driver and escaped multiple times from the USBP agent at high speeds. The criminal charges allege that Gonzalez Jr. eventually left his car and ran on foot, boarding the second vehicle driven by the boy. The agents were able to pull the second vehicle and arrest both Gonzalez Jr. and the boy. One individual who was arrested in the area of ​​reported illegal entry was also arrested and was allegedly admitted to being a Mexican citizen. The criminal charges allegedly acknowledged that Gonzalez Jr. allowed him to enter into an agreement with the smuggler, and expected $1,800 to be paid to pick up illegal aliens.

Fort Hancock’s USBP agent also arrested Yonnilio Swibarra, a Mexican citizen. The agent is said to have observed that three aliens were about to surpass the brush alongside the canal. Rios-Ibarra is charged with bringing and holding a particular alien.

Mexico National Francis Coreina Epinosa was convicted of drunk driving on April 25th before being transferred to federal custody in Odessa and sentenced to 10 years in the 161st Judicial District Court. Reyna-Espinasa was previously convicted in federal court for illegal re-entry after deportation and was sentenced to three years of probation on January 30, 2014. Reyna-Espinoza has two additional DWI convictions regarding his criminal history.

These cases were referred or supported by federal law enforcement partners, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE ERO), US Border Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US Marshals Service (USMS), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), with additional assistance from state and local law executive partner.

The U.S. Lawyer’s Office for the Western District of Texas is comprised of 68 counties in the central and western regions of Texas, covering approximately 93,000 square miles and an estimated population of 7.6 million. The district includes three of Texas’ five major cities: San Antonio, Austin and El Paso, sharing a 660-mile common border with the Republic of Mexico.

These cases are part of Take Back America, a national initiative that marshals the Department of Justice’s complete resources to fight off illegal immigrant aggression, achieve complete exclusion of cartels and cross-border criminal organizations (TCOs), and protects communities from perpetrators of violent crime. Reclaiming business America streamlines efforts and resources from the Sector’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETFS) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The charges and criminal charges are merely claims, and all defendants are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
