The first Buc-ee’s in the Texas Panhandle is coming sooner than originally expected. Amarillo Bushies was scheduled for a grand opening in February 2025, but the travel center will open next month in its place.
In an email to Kron, Buc-ee’s confirmed plans to hold a grand opening for the Amarillo Buc-ee’s on Dec. 16. It came just in time for Texans to take a road trip on vacation and capped off a successful year for Texas’ expansion plans. Mr. Booky.
Amarillo Buckeyes comes as a quick response for the company, which typically takes an estimated 16 months to complete a new location. However, in this case, the travel center would open several months earlier than planned, after a groundbreaking ceremony in late October 2023.
Located at 9900 East Interstate 40, this state-of-the-art 74,000 square foot Texas location will feature 108 fueling stations and 24 EV charging stations. The new location is expected to create at least 200 full-time jobs with starting salaries above minimum wage and benefits and benefits.
Initial customers can expect to see plenty of holiday merchandise suitable for festive attire, including Buc-ee’s popular beaver onesie that mimics Santa Claus’ suit, elf slippers, and ugly Christmas sweaters. The Winter Collection also features tools for decorating, gifting, and gatherings, including gift wrap, ornaments, and even a beaver nutcracker.
If Amarillo Bookies matches its previous grand opening, customers can expect doors to open at 6 a.m. and a ribbon cutting later in the day.
