Austin, Texas – The University of Texas Softball Program will close out its seven-game homestand this week as third-place Longhorns welcomes the 40-acre LSU Tigers for the three-game SEC series starting Thursday, April 17th.

Game Schedule: With Easter taking place on Sunday, the Texas 3-Game Series with LSU will start one day earlier than the regular 3-Game Series, so as not to play on holidays.

April 17 – Thursday – 4:30pm (SEC Network+) Friday, April 18 – 4:30pm (SEC Network+) April 19 – 11am to 11am (ESPN2)

Television: Chris Maikoski and Megan Willis will call the first two games of the series before Matt Schumacher and Amanda Scarborough move to the TV booth for Saturday’s series finale.

Thursday – Chris Maikoski, Megan Willis Friday – Chris Maikoski, Megan Willis Saturday – Matt Schumacher, Amanda Scarborough

Radio: Andrew Haynes can be heard on this week’s game radio call at https://texas.leanplayer.com/.

History of the series:

Texas will take part in action against LSU this week after winning the last six consecutive matchups in the game in Austin. The Longhorns lost their sixth straight win with the Tigers at Red & Charline McCombs Field after dropping their first game played on 40 acres in eight innings on February 18, 2000, 6-2, 40 acres. Throughout the history of the 14-game series between Texas and LSU, there have only been three games where one attack has been shut out, and all of these three games have happened in Austin: May 16, 2003 – Texas 8, March 18, 2022 – Texas 3, LSU 0 March 19, 19, March 4, 2022, Texas 4, the first time will be one week. On the softball field during April. February – March 5 – April 8 – May 8 – 1 Texas’ three-game potential sweep via LSU will bring the Longhorns to a three-game winning streak in the series. Neither Texas nor LSU have won more than four consecutive games in the entire series. If the Tigers win all three games a week, LSU will win the series’ top four after holding one contest between two programs last season. This week’s action is the first time LSU has played a three-game series with Texas in Austin since the 2022 season, with the Longhorns earning all three games with a 18-10 score.

Leadoff:

One win through a three-game slate of a week gave Texas the 40th victory of the season, giving the Longhorns six straight wins of the year, and over 40 win seasons during the completed campaign. Texas won more than 40 games during each completed season under manager Mike White. Throughout the history of the program, the Longhorns won over 40 games during the season completed on 16 different occasions. With his first win this week, seventh-year Texas Softball head coach Mike White claims his 300th victory at the helm of the Longhorn Softball program. White joined Connie Clark (1997-2018) as the only head coach in the program’s history with over 300 career wins. Clark: 873-401-3 (.685) White: 299-87-2 (.773) Next stolen base, Kaden Henry, 53. Scott, 53-60 Henry, 53-60 Henry at 52-56, 53-60 Henry at 52-56, 53-60 Henry at 53-60 Henry, and 53-60 Henry at 53-60 Henry, earning Miascott (2022-P) at No. 10 on the program’s career stolen base list. Mac Morgan (41) is the only active longhorn pitcher to win over 40 career pitching. Entering Thursday’s game, there were only seven softball student-athletes in Texas against over 40 pitching wins. If Mia Scott drives three runs in a three-game series with LSU, Scott (169; 2022-P) will move ahead of Mary Iakopo (171; 2019-22), third on the program’s career RBI list.
