No. 3 Texas thrashes No. 10 Michigan 31-12

Texas was coming off a win against a top 10 team in Week 2, beating Michigan 31-12 in Ann Arbor.

Texas came out strong and dominated the game from the start. The Longhorns scored three touchdowns in the first half and kept the Wolverines out of the end zone. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers had a dominant performance, completing 18 of 26 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. The Longhorns’ 24 first-half points matched their most points scored in an entire game against Michigan last season.

Texas kept up its momentum in the second half. The Longhorns scored another touchdown, secured an interception and held Michigan to just one field goal, but the Wolverines finally found the end zone with two minutes to go.

The Longhorns held Michigan to 284 yards and forced three turnovers while gaining 389 yards.

As the fourth quarter drew to a close, Michigan got a touchdown, as Davis Warren completed a 31-yard pass to Semaj Morgan for the score.

Texas has been in control throughout the game, and the Wolverines will have to fight back at the start of the fourth quarter football.

The Longhorns led 31-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Quinn Ewers caught Gunner Helm for 22 yards and set up Ryan Wingo for a 55-yard run, then Ewers capped off the drive with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jaedon Blue.

After recovering a Michigan fumble, Texas scored on a Quinn Ewers touchdown pass to Matthew Golden that gave the Longhorns a 24-3 lead at halftime.

Texas’ 24 first-half points matched the team’s highest total in an entire game against Michigan last season.

Texas’ Bert Auburn makes a field goal to give Texas a 17-3 lead with 2:40 left in the second quarter.

Dominik Zvada scored on a 37-yard field goal to give Michigan the lead. Texas led Michigan 7-3 early in the second quarter.

Michigan continued to push forward to start the second quarter. Davis Warren completed a pass to CJ Charleston for a 22-yard gain. Donovan Edwards ran for another 12 yards to put Michigan in field goal range at the start of the second quarter.

Texas led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
