AUSTIN, Texas – Madison Booker and Taylor Jones had 47 points and 20 rebounds as the 17/17 Texas women’s basketball team earned its fifth win of the season, winning 80-76 at Tennessee at 17/17. I combined it. Thursday at the Moody Center.
Booker scored his third straight game with at least 20 points, leading Texas with 26 points on 50% shooting. Taylor Jones tallied his sixth double-double of the season with 21 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. Jones had nine offensive rebounds.
Rori Harmon played in her 100th game scoring eight points with eight assists. Aaliyah Moore scored 11 points and freshman Jordan Lee added 10 points for Texas.
The Longhorns outscored the Lady Vols by 18.3 points on the season. Texas outscored Tennessee 39-24 and added 25 second-chance points, while allowing only five for Tennessee.
Booker’s jumper, assisted by Jones, put Texas on the board in the opening quarter. Texas then forced Tennessee State’s 2:28 to score the drought and make it a one-point game.
The Longhorns opened the second quarter with three straight jumpers from Aaliyah Moore, Brianna Preston and Jones to take the lead. Seven lead changes forced Texas to close out the first half and lead 45-40.
Texas shot four-quarters of its field goals in 1:47 of game time. Jones’ jumper with help from Harmon solidified the Longhorns’ one-point lead at the end of the third quarter.
Two field goals from Moore and Harmon gave the Longhorns a five-point lead at the start of the final quarter. In a tie game with less than a minute left, the Longhorns sealed the victory with a jumper from Booker and a pair of free throws from Harmon.
Next, the Longhorns will travel to Oxford, Mississippi to face Ole Miss on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.

•Texas improved to 19-2 on the season and 5-1 in SEC play. The Longhorns earned their fifth win of the season.
•Texas improved to 10-0 at home this season and 42-5 all-time at Moody Center.
•The Longhorns had a 25-5 advantage in second-chance points and had 16 offensive rebounds.
•Texas has given up single-digit second-chance points in 19 of 21 games this season.
•Jones had his 24th career double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
•Madison Booker is averaging 25.3 points per game over the last three games, shooting 56.6% from the field over that span. Booker has scored 20 or more points in nine games this season.

•Rori Harmon had 5 or more assists in her 18th game of the season. With her 8 assists, Harmon has 631 career assists.
