Euless — The woman in Euless In May, he attempted to drown a three-year-old Muslim girl. He was indicted by a Tarrant County jury on charges including attempted murder.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations said the girl’s mother was not yet ready to speak publicly but was pleased with the news.
CAIR Texas said what happened to two young children at an apartment complex pool will leave them traumatized for life.
“She was watching the kids from outside when a woman came into the pool area and started asking her questions about where she was from and why she wasn’t speaking English to the kids,” Shaimaa Zayan with CAIR Austin said.
Zayan said the exchange turned violent.
“The mother jumped into the pool and tried to pull her son out but he was bigger and heavier so she was able to get away. However, the mother then pulled her little daughter to the deeper part of the pool and put her face under water in an attempt to drown her,” the mother said.
She said a good Samaritan stepped in to save the 3-year-old girl.
According to newly obtained court documents, 42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf has been charged with attempted murder and assault of a child under the age of 15, as well as aggravated hate crimes.
Zayan met with his family over the weekend.
“They are happy, hopeful and hopeful for final and complete justice,” she said. “We expect the highest level of punishment.”
They are grateful for all the support they have received. President Joe Biden condemned the attack on social media this summer. Texas Rep. Salman Bhojani also implicated him.
“I have experienced hatred myself,” Bhojani said. “This is not the first time this has happened to me. My goal is to always fight hatred of any kind, because hatred against one person or group is hatred against all of us. I am grateful that the grand jury held Mr. Wolf accountable for his actions.”
CBS News Texas reached out to Wolf’s attorney for comment but did not receive a response.
