With a wide variety of unique restaurants and bars, dining in Dallas offers something for everyone. From barbecue to pizza and everything in between, here are some of our favorite dishes for your evening meal and drinks.
Las Almas Lotas
Las Almas Rotas serves Mexican street food at affordable prices. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes including choriqueso and tacos. The restaurant also offers vegetarian and gluten-free options, including esquite and vegetarian tortilla soup. Las Almas Rotas offers a variety of drinks, including Passion Paloma and Mexican Candy Shots. Drink flights are available from $15 to $56.
Las Armas Lotas is open Fridays from 5 PM to 1 AM, Saturdays from 2 PM to 1 AM, Sundays from 2 PM to midnight, and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5 PM to midnight. That’s it. Happy hour is from 11:30 PM to 12:45 AM on Friday and Saturday, and from 2 PM to 5 PM and 10:30 PM to 11:45 PM on Sunday. The restaurant is within a 5-minute walk of Cotton Bowl Stadium, located at 3615 Parry Ave.
craft and growler
Craft and Growler, located in Historic Exposition Park, is Dallas’ first growler filling station. A growler is a mug for taking draft beer home. The bar currently has 36 different drinks available for guests to browse online. Specializing in craft beer, many of the drinks are local to the Dallas area. The food menu is extensive, from pizza to quesadillas.
Craft and Growler is open Friday and Saturday from 3pm to 10pm, Sunday from 3pm to 9pm, and Tuesday through Thursday from 4pm to 10pm. This bar is located at 3601 Parry Ave., less than a 5-minute walk from Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Pecan Lodge
Pecan Lodge, ranked as the best barbecue in Dallas by D Magazine in 2016, offers a variety of smoked meats, including pound beef ribs and pulled pork. The restaurant also offers dishes such as classic wings and smokehouse nachos.
Pecan Lodge is open Fridays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. , open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., or until sold out. The restaurant is located at 2702 Main Street, a 2-mile walk from Cotton Bowl Stadium.
Meyer’s Garden
Founded in 1881, Mayer’s Garden is a restaurant and bar serving brunch, dinner, and drinks. Specializing in Texas-inspired bar food, their “nuggies” and hearty cheese tots are fan favorites. The drinks menu features unique cocktails and mocktails such as the Turtle Bite Shot and West Coast.
Meyer’s Garden hours are: Friday noon to 11 p.m. Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. is. The restaurant is located at 2422 N. Henderson Ave., a 10-minute drive from the stadium.
Mayer’s Garden bar is open Fridays from noon to 2 a.m. Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays from 11 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to midnight I’m doing it. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, from open until 7 p.m.
Harwood Arms
Harwood Arms is a British-style pub serving a variety of British food, from fish and chips to shepherd’s pie. The pub offers an extensive drinks menu including beers, cocktails and over 50 types of scotch and whisky.
Harwood Arms is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., with extended happy hour on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pub is located at 2823 McKinnon St., a 15-minute drive from the stadium.
chelsea corner
Located about a 20-minute drive from Cotton Bowl Stadium, Chelsea Corner offers an extensive menu for brunch, dinner, and drinks. Fan favorites are the pizza and crab cake Benedict. The restaurant also offers seasonal menu items such as apple cider margaritas and apple serrano pork chops.
Chelsea Corner hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday 4pm to 11pm, and 4pm to midnight on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Happy hour is Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The pub is located at 4830 McKinney Ave.
The Factory Kitchen
The Factory Kitchen is a pizza joint that offers more than just pizza. From ribs to pasta to burgers, the menu has something for everyone. The restaurant also offers a “build your own pizza” feature with toppings such as homemade sausage, pepperoni, black olives and tomatoes.
The Factory Kitchen is open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. A 30-minute drive from Cotton Bowl Stadium, the restaurant is located at 3009 Apollo Road in Garland, Texas.
