The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) is proud to announce that Greg Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lamar National Bank in Paris, has been appointed as the next Chairman of the IBAT Board of Directors for 2024-25. Mr. Wilson has been with Lamar National Bank for nearly 10 years and has led the bank in his current role for the past eight years. Prior to working as a community banker, he worked in venture capital, real estate, and mortgage lending, and was a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Dedicated to the community, Wilson is a fifth-generation Paris resident. Previous volunteer leadership positions include president of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, Paris Urban Development Foundation board member, Paris Wildcat Athletic Booster Club, president of the Lamar County United Way, president of the Paris United Rotary Club; He is also the president of the Paris Downtown Association. , the Paris Educational Foundation, the Paris Tourism and Convention Council, the Paris Squite & Trap Club, and the Denver Pyle Children’s Charity.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wilson was a pole vaulter on the university’s track and field team. He is also an alumnus of Southern Methodist University’s Southwestern Graduate School of Banking, where he served as class salutatorian and graduated with honors. Wilson and his wife, Jenny, have three children and are active members of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
