The crowd behind him took cover as well, some of them watching in disbelief. A bloody but defiant as ever, Trump raised his fist over the heads of a group of Secret Service agents and apparently uttered “Fight!” multiple times before being escorted off the stage and towards an SUV.
Shortly after the incident, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed, “The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former president is safe.”
Trump spokesman Steven Chan said the president thanked “the police and emergency responders who acted swiftly during this heinous act.”
