After a boil water warning was issued for 60,000 residents of Grand Prairie, Texas last week, RaceTrac “jumped into action at our DFW distribution center. Our team coordinated with local government officials to collect 12 pallets (1,008 cases) of RaceTrac branded bottled water and distribute it to designated water drop-off locations,” the company posted on LinkedIn.
Residents in a Dallas suburb were told not to drink, bathe or cook with the city’s water after it was found to contain firefighting foam, according to a LinkedIn post.
“It’s in true Race Track fashion for our DC team to rise to the occasion and help those in need,” said Lucas Cameron, senior supply chain commodity manager. “Many of our team members have been affected by the water contamination and we all wanted to do all we could to help our local community – our neighbors – deal with this temporary inconvenience.”
RaceTrac will host its 11th annual Run for Research 5K race on Saturday, September 14. As always, 100% of registration fees will benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) global research programs in pursuit of better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
“Parkinson’s disease affects approximately 30,000 people in Georgia and the impact is devastating for patients and their families,” said Melanie Isbill, the race track’s chief brand officer and a member of the MJFF board of directors since March 2021.
RaceTrac’s Run for Research is part of the company’s broader RaceTrac Gives Back initiative, which supports a variety of causes.
