A center will soon open to serve the needs of Raymondville ISD students and their families.
Students and their families have direct access to social services coordinators and experts at Raymondville ISD’s Resilience Center to address mental health concerns.
You can also receive support with academics, meals, and health. The services provided will be free of charge.
Raymondville ISD’s Resilience Center will be located in the cafeteria building of the district’s former LC Smith Elementary School campus.
The district received more than $500,000 in grants from the Texas Education Agency to construct the facility and provide services.
Raymondville ISD Assistant Superintendent Benjamin Clinton said, “They really support families with not only what they need to be successful in school, but also at home.”
Parenting classes and GED programs will also be offered at the center.
This service is available only to district students and their families.
The district will partner with local organizations to help provide some services. Camille Cavazos, principal of LC Smith Elementary School, is the center’s program director.
“We are very proud of the Resilience Center. It will bring great hope and strength to our community,” Cavazos said.
Cavazos said principals will help identify families who could benefit from the center, but the door is open to all students in the district.
Some services will be available within the next two weeks.
The center is scheduled for a grand opening in June 2025.
