Local Out-of-State Abortion Fund to be discussed this week
The San Antonio City Council will vote later this week on whether to allocate $100,000 to support out-of-state abortion trips and other reproductive health services.
Council members began the process after the $500,000 Reproductive Judiciary Fund failed to support abortion-related services.
If the city approves funds Thursday, it could face anti-abortion groups and, in some cases, state lawsuits.
The funding could also support other “downstream” services, such as STI tests and home pregnancy tests. The full council will vote on whether to approve the funds immediately.

Gators discovered in RGV after flooding
Residents of the Rio Grande Valley have been warned to be looking for crocodiles following last week’s flooding.
The Texas Department of Transport says dozens of gators have been found in several cities in the valley, including the Los Fresnos highway.
Up to 25 inches of rain fell in some areas of the Rio Grande Valley. The waterways flowed over the banks… pulled gators out of their normal habitat.
At least three people died in South Texas after the flood.
