Week 11 of SEC Baseball proved even more of the league’s parity as Florida and Ole Miss secured a shake-up series victory. Other than Texas, teams at the top of the SEC were unable to separate themselves from others or remain consistent.
This leads to interesting debate as the NCAA tournament rolls and the team shakes for their hosting positions. Which metrics are most important to the committee?
This is how leagues accumulate:
1. Texas
Record: 37-5 (19-2 seconds)
Last week: 1
Key Statistics: The best SEC record ever by Vanderbilt in 2013 is 26-3, and since then only one team has been seriously challenging this record. Can the Longhorns do that in their first year in the league?
2. LSU
Record: 36-9 (14-7)
Last week: 3
Key Statistics: Along with Texas, LSU is one of two teams in the SEC, with at least 30 innings in Zach Cowan and Kasan Evans, with two pitchers with ERAs below 2.00.
