Birmingham, Alabama – University of Texas alumnus Cudin Shedrick has won the SEC men’s basketball community service team spot over the 2024-25 season, the conference office announced Thursday. Each of the league’s 16 member institutions was represented by one player on this year’s team.
This is the 27th year of the SEC Community Service team for men’s and women’s basketball. All sports sponsored by the 22 leagues have served as community service teams since 2004, with large teams selected for men and women’s sports from 1999 to 2003. The SEC launched the concept in 1994 with the Soccer Community Service Team.
Throughout her six-year college career at both the University of Virginia and the University of Texas, Shedrick has had a positive impact both in her respective campus communities and in her hometown of Holly Springs.
During this past calendar year in Austin, he took part in the city’s June parade on June 15th and actively participated in the University’s Rise Civic Engagement Session on September 12th. Additionally, Shedrick was a volunteer coach at the Austin area Special Olympics Day Basketball Camp and volunteer coach at Travis High School in December through Travis High School in 2024. Basketball team. He also made part of his routine to donate personal items to goodwill once every two months.
With the selection of two Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) academic teams in 2022 and 2023, Shedrick received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Virginia in the spring of 2023.
Texas (17-13, 6-11 seconds) will return to action when they hold Oklahoma (18-12, 5-12 seconds) on Saturday, March 8th. The tip is scheduled for Central at Moody Center at 7pm, and the contest will be aired nationwide by the SEC network.
