Sherman, Texas (KTEN) – At first glance it seemed just another typical Tuesday evening – but for staff at Roy Lake Drive, their night quickly took an incredible turn.
Sherman police officers are working to identify the suspect behind the robber deployed just before closing time at the Roy Lake business in the 1800 block.
It all began around 5:53pm
“Our dispatch received a call from a citizen reporting the robbery. The caller recommended that the suspected robbery was not there anymore. Due to the nature of the robbery investigation, our Criminal Investigation Division responded to similar assistance: Brandon Hughes of the Sherman Police Station.

When KTEN arrived at the scene Tuesday night, police and crime scene unit investigators were parked outside the Wood Forest National Bank inside Kroger Supermarket.
“A male adult suspect joined the business and slid the memo into the employee. The memo asked for money saying, “I was robbing,” Hughes said.
Sherman police said the suspect received private cash before leaving the store.

“The suspect was seen on surveillance video and he was described as an adult black man wearing a blue jacket, blue suit pants, a white shirt, a design with a light-coloured beach-style hat in some sort of pastel color,” Hughes added.
No injuries have been reported during the attempted robbery and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Sherman Police Station.
