Unanimously selected to the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman Team…Appeared in 29 games with 16 starts, two complete games, one solo shutout and one save, posting an 8-4 record with a 3.57 ERA…Strikeouted 105 batters in 86.1 innings, holding opponents to a .247 batting average…Appeared in relief in Game 2 of the Women’s College World Championship Series against No. 1 Oklahoma (6/9), striking out two and allowing one hit in 1.2 innings of relief…With Texas facing No. 4 Arkansas (5/28) in the final game of the NCAA Fayetteville Super Regional, Simpson overcame immense pressure to pitch a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out seven, to send the Longhorns into the WCWS…Earned a win over Texas Tech (4/30) Allowed two hits and one run in four innings with one walk and five strikeouts… Earned his first Big 12 Conference win in a win at Kansas on 3/27: 5.0 innings, six hits, one run, and six strikeouts… Won a 9-0 (5 innings) victory over Nicholls State (3/12), striking out seven and allowing only three hits in four innings… Defeated Texas State (2/28) with four scoreless innings in relief, allowing five hits… Strikeouted a career-high 12 batters and did not allow a hit in an 8-0 (6 innings) win over UTSA (2/27) for his first collegiate complete game… Allowed only six hits and two runs in a tough 2-1 loss to No. 3 ranked UCLA (2/19) at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational… He pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, two walks and nine strikeouts in the collegiate team’s 8-4 win over McNeese State (2/16)…

The right-hander posted a 4-1 record with a 0.18 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 32 innings to lead the Texas Bombers Gold Team to the 2019 Premier Girls Fastpitch Under-16 Premier Nationals Championship Game…Her performance also earned her selection to the 2019 PGF Premier Nationals All-Tournament Team…During the 2019 summer road baseball campaign, Simpson posted a 1.20 ERA with 142 strikeouts in 109 innings…

A standout pitching prospect in the state, Simpson was ranked fourth overall (second overall among pitchers) in Extra Innings Softball’s Extra Elite 100 and ninth in Softball America’s Top 100 Player Rankings…During her senior season with Mont Belvieu (42-2), which played in the 2021 5A Texas State Championship and earned a No. 1 final ranking in MaxPreps Stop 25, Simpson posted a 21-0 record with a 0.18 earned run average (ERA) and 271 strikeouts in 119 innings pitched, allowing only 36 total hits and three runs…She recorded 14 strikeouts and earned Most Valuable Player honors in the state championship game in which Mont Belvieu defeated Aledo, 4-1…For her performance in the 2021 season, she was named MaxPreps Co-National Player of the Year and Texas Gatorade Player of the Year, All-Greater Houston Softball Pitcher Award and Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Award winner. Simpson posted a modest 0.16 ERA as a junior, striking out 104 batters in 42 innings, then as a sophomore he struck out 141 batters in 67 innings and led his team to the 5A Texas State Tournament Regional Finals.
Personal
Daughter of Corey and Susan Simpson. Brother: Dalton. Her father played baseball at Southwest Mississippi (1997) and later in the minor leagues for the Atlanta Braves (1998-2001). Her mother played softball at Alvin Community College (1999) and Southeastern Louisiana (2000-2002). She says her biggest inspiration in softball is to be better than her mother and break her records no matter where she plays. Her favorite athletes include former Texas legends Cat Osterman and Krista Williams, former Washington ace Danielle Lawrie, and her mother, Susan.
