LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Texas company is helping students looking for jobs and residents looking for affordable aid.
Texas A&M student Zach Miller launched Spare Hands Student in College Station earlier this year. He explained why the need for the app is so great.
“We created this app because we realized there were two main issues going on,” Miller said. “First on the student side. It’s hard enough to find jobs that we can actually work in that demonstrate the skills we actually have or have done in the past. Second, for homeowners, it’s affordable It’s very difficult to find affordable and convenient assistance, so I thought, “How can I solve these two problems?”
The customer selects a category of service and writes a description of the task and the date it needs to be completed. Enter your address and click the (select) option to display all students available at that time.
Conversely, students can create an account, set rates and availability, and view and accept job openings.
It’s not just a one-man operation.
Yannick Felli helps with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks, including video production and app management. He said Zach’s dedication to helping both students and residents is unparalleled.
“It was really crazy,” Ferri said. “I mean, they launched earlier this year, but since launch day, he’s been working 24/7, trying to make this as good as possible and as easy as possible for both our customers and our students.” side. ”
Devin Grubbs is a student at Texas Tech University who recently completed his first job at SPS. He explained how this work has helped him during class.
“I think it’s a great way to make money, especially for college students, because our schedules are so busy,” Grubbs said. I go to class almost all day, three days a week. Being able to set your own schedule, earn money, and become financially independent is a huge deal. ”
For college students interested in helping their neighbors or students in need, the Spare Hand Students app is available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
