Elon Musk is currently within the realm of the possibility that you can pay SpaceX with Crypto Company Script. Starbase, Texas, will become the city officially incorporated after a public vote on Saturday. Certainly, the electors were not completely neutral towards the polls. Most of the 283 eligible voters were SpaceX employees. Starbase will soon have the authority to pass laws, grant permissions and collect taxes.
Saturday’s votes included 212 votes in favor, with only six votes on the proposal. According to the BBC, Starbase has established its own government together with the mayor and two commissioners. SpaceX vice-president Bobby Peden was elected mayor after not being opposed. The two commissioner positions were met by Starbase residents in their connection to SpaceX. We already have ideas about small towns in Texas, what private space companies have in mind. The Texas Legislature already has a bill that will allow Starbase to close state Highway 4, Bocachica Beach and Bocachica State Park to rocket launches. SpaceX aims to increase the annual releases on Starbase from 5 to 25.
SpaceX has already damaged the environment around Starbase
SpaceX has been on sale from Starbase since 2019, but the city’s establishment also raises concerns that the company will use its new power to cause further environmental damage in South Texas. According to Deutsche Welle, Bekah Hinojosa, co-founder of South Texas Environmental Justice Network, said:
“They will try to dump more illegally, build dangerous rocket operations, cause more seismic activity, shake our homes, and destroy more wildlife habitats in the area.”
Federal and state regulators discovered last year that SpaceX was polluting nearby waters with its flood system. The company had dumped the water used to absorb heat and sound waves from bringing the rocket back into the environment. This is just pollution when everything goes to plan. Things get much worse when SpaceX rockets explode on the launch pad or explode early in the ascent. The 2023 spacecraft explosion left 385 acres of debris and lit 3.5 acres of fire. You need to worry that SpaceX will have full control over Starbase with little or no monitoring.
