South Texas Health System Welcomes First Baby of 2025 at South Texas Health System McAllen
The first baby of the new year arrived at STHS McAllen at 12:05 a.m. and was one of three newborns welcomed at STHS on New Year’s Day.
South Texas Health System is overjoyed to welcome its first baby of 2025, not long after the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Day.
Baby Aubriel Adeline Muniz, weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces, arrived at South Texas Health System McAllen’s maternity center at 12:05 a.m., arriving at one of our facilities on the first day of 2025. This was the first of three newborns.
“We knew she was coming on New Year’s Day,” says new mom Daniela Abigail Lopez. “My due date was January 7th, but I kept thinking, ‘No, this girl will be here sooner than that,’ and sure enough, here she is.”
Baby Aubriel’s birth was a long process, according to her father, Isaac Muniz.
“My wife was in labor for over 24 hours,” Isaac says. “But our little girl is here, and she’s perfect, and we’re so excited to finally be able to hold her.”
Not only is Aubriu the first baby at STHS this year, she is also the Muniz family’s first child, and there is no doubt that 2025 will be a special year for them.
Approximately 3.6 million babies are born in the United States each year, and little Aubriel was the first of the millions expected to be born this year to arrive at STHS. She was also one of three babies born at one of our hospitals on New Year’s Day.
The staff at the STHS Edinburg and STHS McAllen maternity centers and everyone at STHS are grateful to be a part of the journey of families welcoming new bundles of joy into the world, and are dedicated to making the process as smooth as possible. I am.
