In a continuous effort to recognize student-athletes’ achievements across competitive fields, 2024-25 will be serving in the 27th year of the SEC Community Service Team for men’s basketball.
A graduate of Dallas, Texas, Taylor made the most of his opportunities and platform to give back to the 4-Wade Taylor Foundation. He has founded a nonprofit organization to empower young people through programs focused on mental health, leadership development and financial literacy.
Last fall, Taylor’s foundation provided nearly 500 gloves and hats to the Twin City Mission in Brian, Texas, in preparation for the cold month. Last summer, the foundation collaborated with the Boys and Girls Club in Brazos Valley to host its second annual backpack drive.
A student involved, Taylor was the 2024 recipient of the former Student Association’s prestigious Backwhilas Spirit Award, honoring students who showed high involvement, created positive experiences across the Aggie community, influenced the student life of Texas A&M and strengthened the Aggie Spirit. A three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, Taylor has earned a bachelor’s degree in university studies over three years and currently holds a master’s degree in applied youth development. A two-time first-team All-SEC and SEC All-Tournament choice, he is the owner of Texas A&M’s 15 season or career record, and is within the range of records in many other schools and SEC tournaments.
Taylor served as the Chief Business Officer of BluePrint, where he developed and implemented the organization’s overall business strategy, ensuring it was in line with its mission and goals. Blue, a student-athlete LED organization, is an acronym for black leaders who take on excellence. He served as a leadership role as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and sought to clarify the perspectives and needs of student-athletes in discussions and decision-making related to Texas A&M Athletics.
