Texas A&M’s 2024 defensive line will be well represented during the 2025 NFL Draft. This is because the first round is two weeks away. Former five-star Edgeschemer Stewart, who led the pack, left the elite show in early March with the NFL Combine (IN) in Indianapolis (IN). He has received a lot of praise from members of NFL media and the scouting community.
Stewart’s rise in draft rankings is based on his elite characteristics, not his statistics. The Miami (FL) native recorded only 4.5 bags in three seasons at College Station, but after recording 31 tackles and earning an elite 88.2 run defense grade, he steadily improved during his final campaign in 2024.
This month, the 6’5′, 267 pound pass rush has attracted attention from almost every 32 NFL franchises with the opportunity to land potential superstars, including the Dallas Cowboys who hosted him last week.
NFL reporter Ian Rapaport has revealed that Stewart will visit New Orleans (ninth overall pick) and Chicago (10th overall pick) next week after visiting the New England Patriots, who held their fourth overall pick.
Stewart is seen as an elite outlook, but some teams could continue to consider a lack of production on the field and fall to the bottom half of the first round or top of the second round next Friday.
The 2025 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24th to Saturday, April 26th.
