KC Concepcion, a transfer from North Carolina State, is one of the top receivers in the transfer portal and announced on social media on Sunday that he has committed to Texas A&M.
Concepcion was the ACC Rookie of the Year with the Wolfpack in 2024 with a team-high 53 receptions, 460 yards and six touchdowns, and was named All-American Rookie of the Year in 2023. He is one of several high-profile receivers A&M has added. This month’s offense includes Micah Hudson, a transfer from Texas Tech, Mario Klaver, a transfer from Mississippi State, and 2025 five-star recruit Jerome Miles.
The Aggies have actively sought receiver help since the portal opened, looking to improve a corps of pass catchers that lacked elite production and struggled to consistently get open against high-end competition. I did. No A&M receiver caught 40 passes or reached 600 receiving yards this season.
Concepcion was one of the most popular receivers in the portal as a proven receiver who started 24 games and played 774 snaps over two seasons. In two seasons at NC State, Concepcion caught 125 balls for 1,305 yards and 16 touchdowns. According to Pro Football Focus, he worked primarily as a slot receiver, taking 87.2 percent of his pass play snaps from the slot. He has two years of eligibility left.
Adding the 5-foot-11, 189-pound Concepcion in addition to Hudson, Craver and Miles should greatly strengthen A&M’s passing attack. The Aggies are counting on the return of top receiver Noah Thomas and former five-star recruit Terry Bassey, a speedy receiver who became more involved in the passing game in the second half of the season. A&M also expects the return of quarterback Marcell Reed, who started eight games this season, including the final five.
The Aggies lost 35-31 to USC in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday, finishing 8-5 in coach Mike Elko’s first season despite starting 7-1.
