Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will put everything on the line for the regular season as the Aggies face the Texas Longhorns (10-1, 6-1 SEC) for the first time in 13 years. The epic rivalry is back for good going into its final week.
More importantly, the winner of Saturday’s game will face Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, as the Aggies’ season was salvaged after Alabama’s shocking loss to Oklahoma in Week 13. Texas A&M starting quarterback Marcell Reed, aware of the challenges ahead, needs to get through a big day to give the Aggies a chance.
On College Game Day, head coach Mike Elko took to the stage with Kirk Herbstreit, whose sons played with Marcell Reed in high school, to talk about Reed’s growth this season after taking over as the full-time starter. Ta.
Reed’s best moment came in the second half of a 38-23 come-from-behind victory over LSU, when he led the Aggies to five straight points. But Elko praised Reed’s growth as a passer, especially in the middle of the field, highlighting his perfect pass to Noah Thomas that led to a 73-yard touchdown in the loss to Auburn.
“I thought it was me, talking to Coach Coach.”

Against Texas’ elite secondary, Reed will need to show proper footwork and throw with timing and precision to hit open targets, which will open up the running game.
No. 19 Texas A&M will play No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. C.T. This game will be broadcast on ABC.
