Texas A&M football has historically had a lot of success in the final two remaining road games this season. In fact, the Aggies lost at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium in their sixth year in the SEC, and at South Carolina’s Williams-Brice Stadium in their 10th year in the conference.
Of course, this was the last time I visited Gamecock, and only the second time for a night game. Still, that poor Aggies performance almost ended in a victory, with a kickoff return for a touchdown proving the deciding factor.
Texas A&M football will again have to overcome a noisy nighttime environment this season against the Shamcocks. The SEC announced the telecast designation for Nov. 2, and the Aggies will play at night for the second consecutive week, only this time away from Kyle Field.
All eyes are on LSU right now, but it’s clear this won’t be an easy game for the Aggies. Carolina has a bye this week and will be preparing hard to do their best to hand the Aggies their second straight loss in the Williams-Brice game.
The Shamcock defense boasts a ferocious pass rush this season in conjunction with very physical defensive backs. In this work, Ags work best.
What I haven’t mentioned yet is that the first time the Aggies played the Shamcocks on the road in a night game, they won 48-3. Of course, that was 2020, so the attendance wasn’t exactly the same, but the Aggies will be hoping for a similar result when they travel to Columbia in a few weeks.
