Austin – We continue to work with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Gov. Greg Abbott of the Texas State Guard, and the Trump administration to secure the border. Governor Abbott: Texas continues to work with the Trump administration on border security


On Wednesday in Washington, D.C., Gov. Abbott met with the US border border and discussed Texas’ support for the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to secure borders and end the border crisis.


Last month, Gov. Abbott issued five executive orders directing state agencies to support the Trump administration’s border security efforts. The governor also deployed Texas tactical border forces and DPS tactical strike teams to support the federal government in border and homeland security operations. Additionally, in early February, Gov. Abbott signed a memorandum of understanding that allowed Texas State Guard soldiers to arrest immigrants and operate with federal immigration officials.
Texas will continue to work with the Trump administration to secure borders and arrest, detain and deport illegal criminal immigrants from the United States.
Governor Abbott: Texas Congressional Delegation touts Texas’ historic border security mission


Yesterday, Gov. Abbott shared photos of his meeting with the Texas Congressional delegation in Washington, DC, on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The governor joined the Texas Legislature delegation and worked with the new federal government to ensure the success and borders of Texas Operation Lone Star.
Texas will continue to deploy all the necessary personnel and resources to help the White House make America safe again.

Earlier this month, in a 2025 state speech, Gov. Abbott highlighted the success of Texas’ historic border committee.
Operation Lone Star, launched in 2021, is an unprecedented mission to protect Texans and Americans and protect the southern border from the crisis created by the Biden administration.
Texas will continue to serve as a federal partner in the Trump administration to secure borders.
DPS seizes 34 pounds of drugs in Webb County


This week, DPS troopers seized 34 pounds of drugs during an Operation Loan Star Trafix Top in Webb County.
While conducting a vehicle search, the trooper discovered two large bundles of drugs in a duffel bag. Two individuals have been arrested for possession of drugs.
Texas National Guard seizes boats after illegal immigrants return to Mexico after suspected traffickers


Last week, Texas National Guard soldiers assigned to the task force seized a boat used to smuggle illegal immigrants across the Rio Grande River.
The operation took place at a known low water intersection near Shelby Park. A security team from the Texas State Guard found a group of migrants attempting to illegally enter Texas by using boats to cross the Rio Grande River. Once the boat crossed the US side of the river, Texas National Guard soldiers were able to seize the boat, and nine illegal immigrants and human traffickers fled to Mexico.
Drone teams discourage 12 immigrants from illegally crossing to Texas


This week, the Texas National Guard Suas drone team stopped 12 illegal immigrants from reaching the United States.
The SUAS team identified a large number of people trying to cross the Rio Grande and notified the soldiers with the Lone Star Ribernin team, who moved in by boat. The river team defeated the group and forced it to Mexico.
The SUAS Technology Program is a multiplier of ground and river units forces and works in unison with several other types of cutting-edge technologies deployed along the border.

This week, Texas National Guard soldiers joined forces with DPS and US Border Border Patrol to combat illegal immigrants.
“Today’s mission is to present citizens of Texas and the United States with a show of force based on the governor’s orders,” Major Dale Williams Command said. “This is part of history and one of the biggest honors of my career to help National Guard soldiers come here to secure the borders of Texas.”
The Texas State Guard will continue to provide local and federal partners with the personnel and resources to assist with border security operations.
